Every day you make me proud; Today you get a blog post.
I saw (500) Days of Summer a whole bunch of times.
Everything before the word “but” is horse shit.
So this is a real thing: I’m writing a book. It’s called “…and you are?”, and (so far) it’s about the journey of being intentional—about choosing What Comes Next when the usual paths don’t quite fit.
This isn’t a typical memoir or just another philosophy book. It’s my attempt to talk about my lived experiences and lessons learned, combined with research to explore how men find (or lose) a sense of worth when they don’t follow society’s standard playbook. What happens when you’re not climbing a corporate ladder, married with kids, or pursuing the “traditional” benchmarks of success? This is about rebuilding, questioning, and being intentional with What Comes Next.
Here’s What to Expect:
- Updates Across Platforms: I’ll be sharing updates here, as well as on my YouTube channel for those who like a more behind-the-scenes look at the process. Expect video logs, unfiltered (within reason!) thoughts, and some real-time progress.
- Themes and Essays: Each chapter will be a standalone essay tying into the larger story, covering topics like fitness, sex & relationships, and even “disposability”—how society tends to measure people up and decide who is and who is not “worthwhile.”
- First Up: Fitness and Rebuilding: One of the first essays will dive into fitness as more than physical strength—it’s been a way of rebuilding my mind and spirit too. This all started back in February 2022 when I found myself in the hospital with a serious infection, asking What Comes Next? That’s when I filed the paperwork for What Comes Next? LLC, a name that’s since become a personal saying (don’t make me say “brand”—I am not a marketer, and we are not products, dammit. Ahem.)
For anyone who’s ever questioned the metrics of success or wondered if there’s a different path, this book is for you. It’s a work in progress, but this announcement is my commitment to doing it with intention and accountability.
Thanks for being here—and here’s to What Comes Next.
Oh also Happy Birthday to me.
